Use the password to open the document.

Save the file.


Set a password to modify a Word document

In addition to setting a password to open the Word document, you can create a password to others to edit to set the document.
Click the Microsoft Office Button, click Save As, and in the bottom of the Save As dialog box, choose the Tools menu.
Click the Tools menu, click General Options. Options dialog box opens.
Under File sharing options for this document, the password to change your password.
In the Confirm Password dialog box, type the password again. Click the OK button.
Click the Save button.
